I lost all my email addresses through a yahoo malfunction, is there anyway to recover this info?

I was trying to send an email to a friend when the computer said Internet Explorer has experienced a problem and will need to shut down, and shut down before I could close my browser, as a result I lost all my email addresses, when I reopened the mail, went to the addresses they were not there, can I recover them, maybe they are in a backup somewhere on the hard drive, help
