How can I talk to this shy guy in my class?

So Im pretty sure hes interested because Ive caught him looking at me often..like everyday.This This is in ceramics class btw.And every time I walk by him he usually looks up at me.Sometimes I hold eye contact with him and sometimes I smile(He smiles back to sometimes) and sometimes Ill look at him and hell already be smiling..How can I chat him up though?Hes almost always listening to superrr loud metal music and when he isnt he doesnt really talk.A couple times hes walked over to where I sit,pause than walk away..?lol and I think he followed me one time cuz as soon as I turned around he did too.I see him alot around school..like during lunch and afterschool sometimes cuz we both hang out in the park across the street from school and I'll see him looking in my direction.Oh yeah this whole eye contact-looking at you thing has been going on the whole school year.But umm how can I chat him up?Im kinda shy with guys and I wanna let him know Im interested..and I wanna make a move before this other chick whos been checking him out does..
