How can I fix this? Help!?

Okay, so you know the part that connects the tongue to the bottom gum behind your teeth? Well, I had some plaque growing back there that I hadn't noticed until recently. I brushed my teeth and the majority was gone. The next day, I noticed my tongue felt loose. You see, I have a heart shaped tongue. Under closer inspection in the bathroom, I found my frenulum(?) was loose and it was hanging on a base of skin that had kind of come off. I suppose it had adjusted itself to the plaque and grew on it. When I got rid of it, it broke loose. When I dip my tongue, I feel this dip in the frenulum (I'm not sure if that is it's name exactly) and it's really starting to worry me. I am very scared. Does anyone know what to do?
